Hey everyone!

My weekend was extremely fun. I spent Friday night and all of Saturday studying, shopping, and sleeping – the three college S’s, if you will. It’s quite a glorious combination (well, at least the last two)! It rained for quite a bit on Saturday, but there was a beautiful rainbow over St. Joseph’s.

Sunday was one of the best days of the entire semester. It was my first ballroom dance competition. Ashley was my leader, and we ended up getting three callbacks in American Swing and one callback in Foxtrot. It was an extremely long day, but it was also so much fun to just dance all day!

When we finally got back to campus at 8:30 at night, it was extremely cold. Even though I was born in Newton, MA, and raised in New Bedford, MA, I guess 13 years of Georgia weather have thinned my blood. Coolbeans came to my rescue with a S’mores hot chocolate, though.

And how about those Red Sox? While I was doing my Latin paper last night/this morning, I had MLB GameCast on my desktop, and then I finally had to run into a friend’s room to see the last pitch. There were twelve of us huddled around the TV. It was deathly silent. We all saw the pitch…and then we saw the strike out. It actually took all twelve of us a few seconds to realize that the Red Sox had actually won a World Series championship. After we realized it, though, we were running around the hall like complete madwomen. I called my sister, Caitie, who goes to Colgate to tell her about the celebrations that were taking place on campus. Needless to say, she was jealous of the Red Sox majority that Holy Cross boasts. That’s what she gets for going to a school in upstate New York, though! The celebration on campus was in typical Holy Cross fashion – for about fifteen minutes, people were running around outside screaming “Sweet Caroline” and “Red Sox Nation,” but the celebration quickly desisted when people began to realize that they still had homework to do.

Well, I’m off to ballroom, studying, and maybe even rearranging my dorm. This week is relatively calm for me, so check back for more updates!

Oh yes – a brief “shoutout” to Christian, who is responsible for making sure that my blog runs smoothly. Christian was married last Saturday, so congratulations, Christian!

Hey everyone! Sorry about my lack of entries. I’ve been incredibly busy up here! It’s been a lot of work, but I’ve also had a lot of fun with my friends.

On Saturday, right after I was finished with lecturing at the 4:30 Mass, my friend Ashley came up to me and said, “Kendra, Molly, and I are going into Boston tonight. Want to come?” So, we headed into Boston for six hours or so (thank you SGA for the free bus shuttle!) and we watched the Sox game (I cannot believe that they blew that one!).

I am so excited for this weekend because I get to see my family! My sister swims for Colgate University, and she has meets this weekend against Boston College and Boston University. Even though I saw them three weeks ago, I’m incredibly excited to see my parents.

It’s starting to get cold up here rather quickly (well, at least according to my Georgian blood). The leaves are beginning to change, and the campus is going to look just beautiful.

Well, I have to finish some work right now because I have ballroom at 7:00 tonight, and I stayed up until 3:00 this morning (that wasn’t an exceptionally bright idea, considering that I had to go off to work at 7:00 a.m.), so I kind of want to get to bed early tonight!

Quick entry for today. This past weekend was rather nice; I went into Boston on Saturday and Sunday. I met up with my grandfather there, and it was just nice to enjoy the city for a few days. Other than that, I’ve been working a lot because I have a paper due on Friday, another one due on Monday, and another one due next Friday. October is a pretty busy month for me!

In other news – congratulations to Joe Caravella, the Class of 2011 president!

The weather is actually quite perfect up here. I took some advice from last year’s blog, and I’ve recently become addicted to hot apple cider from Cool Beans. If you put two shots of caramel in it, it really does taste like a caramel apple. Thanks, Rebecca!

All right, I have to get back to this paper. Until next time!

Sorry I haven’t written in a while; I’ve been studying for my first Intermediate Latin test. I’m not exactly sure how it went; I felt fine on the translation, but I had started to feel nervous on the grammar part. Luckily, Professor Bazzaz let us watch “Hometown: Baghdad” in Making of the Modern Middle East, so my brain was allowed to rest for a little while. I’m just glad that it’s over.

This past weekend was Parents’ Weekend. It was great to see my parents and show them around the campus; it was also great to get off campus and eat some food not prepared in Kimball!

I’m so excited for this weekend – we have a four day weekend for Columbus Day. I’ll be staying on campus because I can’t exactly get home all that easily, but I’m so eager to just spend a couple of days in the library catching up, getting ahead in my classes, and sleeping in. It’s going to be wonderful.

Well, I’m off to the library and then the Literary Society meeting. Have a nice day!
